THE TUNIC DRESS

This little black tunic dress is so fabulous and you can't beat the price...  ONLY $30!!! It's the perfect staple item to add to your closet. I found this amazing piece at Stay Fierce Boutique; which is an online boutique located in Cary, NC. I instantly fell in love with the tunic dress. I had a hard time deciding between the black and the orange, but ultimately black won!!! The orange is super cute too though, and I've linked both colors under outfit details below.

I have two looks pictured below: one for summer and one for fall!!!

For my summer look I just threw on some big/fun earrings and a pair of sandals and walked out the door! This dress is lightweight enough to keep you cool in the summer!!! The earrings pictured above are $36! They are so much more fun looking in person!!! Unfortunately, the color I have on is sold out but linked below is the coral pair; which are just as fun and would look amazing with this black tunic dress. Ps. The earrings are not as heavy as they look! The Tory Burch 'Miller' Flip Flop (in gold) is my go to shoe!!! Extremely comfortable and goes with everything! I don't even know how old mine are because I've had them forever, but you can tell by the pictures above that they hold up extremely well!!!

For my fall look, I added a fun leather tassel bib statement necklace and my fave booties from last year. I mean how awesome is that tassel bib necklace?! It's currently marked down to $20 (what a steal)! My booties are from last year but guess what? I found them again this year at Nordstrom and I've linked them below! They are my absolute favorite pair of booties. They are under $100 and worth every penny because they go with absolutely everything and they hold up extremely well. I wore them all last fall, winter, and into the spring and they are still in perfect condition (my mom even has the same pair)!!! I think a leather jacket would be adorable to complete the look! I'll have to post this outfit later with my leather jacket. I left most of my fall items at my apartment in Raleigh, so bare with me! Note to self: bring home outfits for every season when moving home for the summer (haha)! Side Note: This dress is also the perfect dress for upcoming football games this fall! In one of my first blog posts I talked about my love for football! I'm a huge Gamecocks fan (born and raised one!!! Plus, I have lived longer in SC than I have NC) so I got excited thinking this would be the perfect dress for USC games. It would also be perfect for an ECU game; which is where I am an alumni. I always go to Greenville for the Homecoming Game because my sorority does a brunch where we can all get together and catch up! It's the best time!!! My boyfriend went to NC State, so I am a new state fan as well! I probably go to more NC State games now that I'm in Raleigh, and because it makes my boyfriend super happy (haha)!!! This tunic dress will definitely be worn to a NC State game this year!  So I currently root for 3 teams (let's just say I'm constantly on my phone checking the scores, switching between channels if the games are on at the same time, etc!) This dress is perfect for all 3 of my college football teams! And for all you Clemson fans out there (BOO) just kidding, I linked an orange tunic dress that would be perfect for ya'll!!! :)

FALL READY

My favorite two seasons are hands down spring and summer... but I have a feeling I'm going to love fall this year!!! This dress (pictured below) is my all time FAVE. I've never been more in love with a dress. The gorgeous floral pattern and cutout back gives this dress the most feminine vibe!!!

Yumi Kim is one of my favorite brands!!! I only have a few pieces in my closet though because of the price, but if I could I would have every piece!!! All the patterns are just so gorgeous in person. ~Shop The Post~

The story behind my pearl ring: My dad surprised me 4 years ago on Valentine's Day (when I was single) with the post perfect gift. He made my day, reminding me that I was special and didn't need a man to feel loved! It's one of the most meaningful gifts I've ever received! Definitely a ring I will always cherish. Not to mention, it's fabulous!!! This pearl ring definitely makes a statement and goes with absolutely everything!

Funny Story: Ya'll will never believe what happened to me during this photo shoot! I brought a second pair of shoes to photograph... suede wedges that I had just received in the mail. I was just having too much fun with my sorority sister during the shoot that I totally forgot to put them on to photograph. We had set them on the bridge at the park and had totally forgotten about them. As we were pulling into my driveway I realized we had left them at the park! Talk about driving like a mad woman - that was me (haha) whipped my car around so fast!!!  We thought there was no way they would still be there by the time we made it back, but luckily THEY WERE!!!! I looked like a fool running through the park with a silk dress on, but I didn't care... all I wanted was my shoes. Found them opened, on the ground, with birds picking at the paper stuffed inside (haha). Had to fight the birds off!!! All I can say is thank you to the park walkers that didn't take shoes that were left unattended! :)

BRIGHT & BOLD

I'm the type person that loves wearing bright colors! My friends always say I have the brightest closet they've ever seen (haha)! When I saw this bright green dress (pictured below) at Belk, I instantly fell in love!!! <3 This dress is so versatile... take it from day to night by just changing the shoes and the accessories! Belk carries one of my favorite brands, Crown and Ivy!!! Such cute clothes without breaking the bank (+ Belk always has great coupons!) I love shopping at Belk!

One of my all time favorite trends this summer is pom poms!!! They are just so much fun! What's better than pom poms on your feet?! Absolutely nothing, haha! These Chinese Laundry sandals are my summer obsession. Wearing these babies makes an outfit pop! + these pom pom sandals are a huge conversation starter... I've yet to go somewhere without someone stopping me to ask about my shoes!!! :)

One of my best friends and I spent the day in downtown Wilmington! I wanted to show her all my favorite spots on the river and also take her to my favorite ice-cream joint!!! Kilwins  is the absolute BEST! Every time I go downtown I make a stop for some ice-cream. Best treat on a hot day! I'm not going to lie though, it was one scorching hot day... so after we ate brunch I showed her just a few places and we took a few photos, then we bounced! We were so ready to jump inside with some air conditioning!!! Stay cool this weekend!!!

I'm hoping to head to Topsail Beach tomorrow to visit my Gammie and layout on the beach with her, fingers crossed! Let me know what exciting plans you have planned this weekend?! I'd love to hear them!!!

THE COLD SHOULDER

Happy Wednesday Loves!!! So I had been seeing a lot of posts on Instagram from people wearing clothes from Goodnight Macaroon, and I decided I would give it a shot because the prices are AMAZING. I purchased this about a month ago, on a Tuesday because they run this "FLASH SALE TUESDAY" deal, where the items are marked down for a limited time!!! The clothes are at a great price even when they aren't on sale, but Tuesdays are definitely the days to shop! :) This cold shoulder romper is less than $50!!!

Isn't this cold shoulder romper adorable?! I still can't believe I got this baby for $30 on "Flash Sale Tuesday"! The back is somewhat open and has tassel ties, which makes me love this romper even more. The romper is short on me so I decided to pair it with sandals! These sandals haven't come off my feet since I purchased them! They are extremely comfy and talk about affordable!!!! These double strap sandals are currently $14 and then take an extra 25% off - no code needed! I had to get them in every color because you can't beat that deal! The romper and the shoes are both at great prices, and guess what?! So is this super fun tassel necklace! It's $32 and it goes with almost everything! I always love throwing on a bright accessory to make my outfit come to life, and this tassel necklace does just that!

This Lilly Pulitzer matching two piece set is my all time FAVE!!! The girly feel, the bright colors, the tassels.... I just love everything about it!!! MOREHEAD CITY

I had the best time visiting my family in Morehead City. Mom and I did a girls trip to visit my aunt and cousin. They have the most adorable cottage on the intercostal there. We did so many fun things on the trip and I am so excited to share them all with you! It was a short trip, but a super fun one!!!

Day 1:

My aunt and cousin always rave about El's Drive-In, so the first thing on our agenda was to pick up lunch from there. Boy, am I glad that we did... my cheeseburger was incredible!!! My mom got the shrimp burger because that is what my cousin recommended, and she said it was the best shrimp burger she had ever tasted. We had a side of fries and onion rings along with our burgers, and we ate every bit of it! Honestly, it left us wanting more because it was so darn delicious.

After lunch we sat out in the backyard, enjoyed the view, and just chatted...catching up on life. My cousin is engaged and getting married next summer so we wanted to hear all about the wedding plans and whats to come. Weddings are so exciting!!! I'm so so happy for my cousin and her fiancé. Once the sun started going down and our stomachs started to growl we decided it was time to go to Full Circle Cafe and grab some dinner. Full Circle Cafe is the cutest little restaurant in Morehead, and the food was incredible!!! The 4 of us ladies decided to split a few apps and a pizza. Best decision ever!!! We got a classic caesar salad, steamed pork dumplings, and edamame as our apps.The steamed pork dumplings were paired with a tamari-ginger sauce and they were so tasty. I could of had 10 more of those things, haha! The edamame was covered in ginger sea salt (our choice out of 4 options) and it tasted amazing!!! Really glad we went with that option! Now, it was really hard for us to make a decision on which pizza to order because they all sounded fabulous, but we finally decided on the grilled shrimp & artichoke pizza. Talk about one of the best pizza's I've ever tasted! I was not sure if I would be a huge fan of shrimp on top of my pizza, but now it is safe to say I'm a fan for life!

Day 2:

We woke up and took sweet Buoy (their Springer Spaniel) on a walk around the neighborhood. I got to see a close up of all the adorable houses!!! I am obsessed with all the old siding that is on most of the houses there. During our walk we talked about all the things we were going to pick up at The Friendly Market. Mindy's Baked Goods is a  dream come true for a girl that can not cook! I am the absolute worst cook. Every time I try to cook dinner for my boyfriend it is an epic fail (so lets be honest, I have not tried that many times because of how bad I am). I follow the recipe word by word and it somehow always turns out awful!!! He's the sweetest though, he just smiles and pretends it is good, meanwhile I am spitting the food out because it is so awful. Well I just found the solution to all my problems.... MINDY'S BAKED GOODS!!! Talk about the best food ever!!! All the baked goods you could ever want under one roof! So far I have tried the chicken salad, shrimp chowder, and enchiladas... lets just say I will be going back for all three. The chicken salad is unlike any chicken salad I have ever tasted!!! It is incredible! Definitely a must get! I still have lots more to try and I look forward to dinners every night because I have a freezer full of baked goods I brought back with me!

The last stop before heading back to Wilmington was at Happy Cakes Cup Cakery! The name says it all! I left with one HAPPY BELLY! Happy Cakes Cup Cakery won cupcake wars and I now know why! Best cupcakes ever!!! Mom and I could not decide on two flavors to split so we decided to order 6 (and no, we did not eat all 6 at one time... we took a few home to enjoy). We decided on chocolate coffee, cinnamon sugar, vanilla bean, key lime pie, chocolate salted caramel, and banana split! They all were sooooooo delicious! I wish there was a Happy Cakes here in Wilmington... I would go all the time!!! If we had to choose a favorite (which is extremely hard because we loved them all)... Mom would choose chocolate coffee, and I would choose banana split!!!

It's safe to say mom and I will be making lots of trips back to Morehead City!!! We so enjoyed going around town, trying new things, and are so grateful for our trusty tour guides!

LILLY LOVIN'

Lilly Lovin' is right!!! I just love wearing Lilly Pulitzer! Bright colors and bold prints is my jam. Also, there is just something so classy yet fun about wearing Lilly. When I first saw this top I almost died over how beautiful it was! White lace, fringe trim, and gold buttons all the way down the back... talk about GORGEOUS! I immediately fell in love with this top and knew it would be a staple piece in my closet (literally goes with everything). Lilly shorts are my favorite because of the way they fit and their awesome prints of course! I feel like I'm always between sizes at most places but not when it comes to Lilly shorts, they fit like a glove and are not too tight at the waist! The perfect shorts for sure!!!



Are you all obsessed with tassels like I am?! I have tassel everything it feels like! Can't get enough tassels... am I right?! These bracelets were a gift with my Lilly purchase awhile back (they tend to run those specials from time to time), but don't worry... I have my eye on the lookout if they are to come back online, because they are fabulous! Below I've linked some of my other favorite tassel bracelets though, so take a peak! :)
